Train for a career AND earn your high school equivalency at the same time! MIBEST seeks to increase the number of these students who are able to secure jobs with a livable wage and scale the integrated career pathways available to Mississippians.
The Mississippi Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (MIBEST) program is a workforce and economic development initiative that moves low-skilled,
non-credentialed Mississippians from the economic sidelines into careers earning family-sustaining
wages. The program prioritizes individuals who did not complete a traditional high
school degree, those in low-wage jobs, and other nontraditional students.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Adults 17 years or older who do not hold a high school diploma
- Students enrolled in MCC's Adult Education Program
- Mississippi residents
WHY ENROLL?
- No cost for qualifying students for their first semester of attendance.
- Complete up to 15 hours of college credit while working towards your high school equivalency
- Earn national and industry recognized certificates
- Increase your employability skills
- Graduate in a shorter time frame
