Label All Belongings Clearly

  • Use tags, masking tape, or stickers to label each box with your full name and room number to ensure your items are delivered to the correct location.

Sort Belongings by Room

  • If moving into College Crossing Apartments, label boxes by the room they belong in — such as “Kitchen,” “Bedroom,” or “Bathroom.” This will make unloading and unpacking much easier.

Pack Essentials Separately

  • Bring a small bag or box with first-day necessities like toiletries, medications, a phone charger, snacks, and a change of clothes so you don’t have to search through boxes right away.

Bring a Dolly or Rolling Cart (If Possible)

  • Carts may be available, but bringing your own can help speed up the process — especially for heavier items.

Dress Comfortably and Check the Weather

  • Move-in involves walking, lifting, and possibly waiting in line. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather.

Stay Hydrated and Take Breaks

  • Move-in day can be busy. Drink water, take short breaks, and pace yourself.

Follow Check-In Instructions

  • Pay attention to posted signage and staff guidance upon arrival. Check-in locations and procedures may vary by residence hall.
