Division of Business

The Division of Business offers courses that prepare you for employment in a wide range of careers. Career and Technical Certificate or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree pathways are available. For questions or to get started contact MCC Advising

Accounting

Accounting Technology provides individuals with entry-level accounting positions, as well as enhances the skills of individuals currently employed in accounting. Students have the option of pursuing a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree, or a one-year Career & Technical Certificate.

Business and Marketing Management

Business and Marketing Management Technology prepares students for employment in the field of marketing and management. Students will learn the latest techniques in marketing, management, sales, advertising and e-commerce. Students have the option of pursuing a two-year AAS Degree, or a one-year Career & Technical Certificate.

Business Office Management

Business Office Management Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the changing technology of today’s business and professional offices. The student will develop skills using accounting and computer software applications. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take a series of OPAC certification exams. 

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology program of study prepares students to care for the hair, complexion, hands, and feet. The Cosmetology Teacher Training program is designed to develop appropriate communication skills, effective use of visual aids, identification of various teaching styles, and practical application of cosmetology instruction.

Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts Technology provides a solid foundation in the methods and science of cooking through exposure to classical, American, and international cuisine as well as the art of baking and pastries. Special emphasis is placed on culinary tools, equipment, techniques, and specialty ingredients. 

Digital Marketing

The Digital Marketing Technology program is designed to teach professionals and business owners how to become savvy marketers in this digital age! Digital marketing is one of the fastest-growing careers and is quickly becoming an essential part of marketing in virtually every business.

Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education Technology program prepares students for a professional career in public, private, corporate, or parochial Early Childhood Education programs, including those in public and private child care centers that serve children of all socioeconomic levels and abilities. Students have the option of pursuing a two-year AAS Degree, or a one-year Career & Technical Certificate.

Emergency Management and Communications

The Emergency Management and Communications Technology program prepares students for current and advanced employment in Emergency Management and Public Safety Communications. Graduates typically serve as an integral part of a community’s emergency contingency plan by managing response operations, providing effective communication services, and preparing for future incidents.

Fire Protection

Fire Protection Technology is designed to prepare students for employment in Fire Service Administration or Community Fire Risk Management. Students are trained in fire-fighting safety, tactics, law, strategy as well as problem solving and critical decision-making.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design Technology is a two-year AAS Degree program that is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and advancement in the field of graphic design. Students in this program have the option to concentrate on Print and Media Design or Virtual and Augmented Reality XR Design. 

Media Production

Media Production Technology offers hands-on education in the field of media production and broadcasting. Students learn about audio and video production, writing styles for the mass media, and announcing for radio and television. Students gain practical experience in producing, writing, editing, announcing, directing, reporting, and field and studio production.

Medical Office Management

Medical Office Management Technology is a two-year program of study that is designed to prepare students to work in office positions in hospitals, doctors’ offices, health clinics, insurance companies, and other health-related organizations. Students develop skills using medical terminology, accounting, coding, and computer software applications. Emphasis is placed on skills needed to become a medical billing clerk or an entry-level medical coder.

Network and Cyber Security

Network and Cyber Security Technology is a two-year program that offers training in cyber security, network administration, and client/server systems. Students will be instructed in the areas of confidentiality, integrity, and availability in information security. Students will learn to install, design, manage, operate, plan, maintain and troubleshoot hardware in a secure information technology infrastructure. 

Software Coding

Software Coding Technology offers training in the design, coding, and testing of software applications using a variety of programming languages, database manipulation, hardware maintenance, and operating systems functions. Graduates are prepared for entry-level employment as developers and analysts as well as other related information technology positions in a variety of industries.
