LEAD session focuses on motivation

Kimberly Rush, associate dean of advising, retention, and student success, shared how motivation can drive success in various aspects of their lives, both in and out of the classroom.
"With orientation, students can check out our campus but also learn of all the support available," said Katie Barrett, Meridian Community College dual education coordinator.
By invoking the words of the iconic civil rights leader, speakers at MCC's MLK Commemorative Celebration reminded the audience true character is revealed in times of challenge and controversy, not in moments of comfort.
The event begins at 1 p.m. in the College's McCain Theater in Ivy-Scaggs Hall. Admissions are free of charge, and campus and community members are invited.
In the spirit of community and giving, Meridian Community College student Mark Thomas spearheaded efforts to help others by giving to the College's food pantry.
