Accessibility Statement
Meridian Community College is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive digital experience that allows students, employees, visitors, and community members to access information, services, programs, and activities through our website.
MCC is actively working to maintain and improve the accessibility of meridiancc.edu in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in new tab), which are recognized standards for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. WCAG guidance addresses accessibility for users with a wide range of needs, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
We regularly review our website content, design, and functionality to improve accessibility and usability. Our ongoing efforts include, but are not limited to:
-
Providing meaningful alternative text for images
-
Using clear headings, labels, and page structure
-
Maintaining appropriate color contrast
-
Supporting keyboard navigation
-
Creating accessible forms and links
-
Reviewing documents and PDFs for accessibility
-
Improving compatibility with assistive technologies, including screen readers
While we work to make all areas of our website accessible, some content may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. This may include older documents, third-party tools, linked external websites, or content that is being reviewed or updated. MCC is committed to identifying and correcting accessibility barriers as part of our ongoing website maintenance.
