Business, education, and workforce leaders gathered at Meridian Community College for the ATLAS Industry Roundtable Discussions, an event focused on shaping Mississippi's statewide workforce strategy.
The MCC Detention Officer Academy, required for all detention officers in Mississippi, covers topics such as jail liabilities, booking and admissions, court documentation, medical and mental health issues, and defensive tactics.
A partnership among the City of Meridian, MCC, and Specialty Roll Products led to the Grassroots Mayor's Job Fair, connecting residents with employment opportunities and a chance to build better futures.
When 81 year old Columbus Thedford enrolled in MCC's Adult Literacy Program, he couldn't read. Now, through classes twice a week with instructor Susie Chapman, he can pick up a book or fill out forms.
