Harrison, who worked as an auditor for Mississippi State Auditor's Office often traveling across the state daily, would wind up at MCC and ultimately retire from MCC as chief financial officer in June 2022.
In 1975, Debroah Stokes became the first Black nursing instructor in Meridian when she began teaching at the now-closed Matty Hersee School of Nursing. Later, in 1980, she became the first Black nursing professor at MCC.
Acknowledging his alma maters for helping him with his life's work, Carroll said, "Without the knowledge gained through MCC and MSU Meridian, I could not have supported the EMEPA team fully.
