Life often unfolds in chapters and for Marmion Loving Francis, those chapters are clearly defined: growing up in West Point, rearing her family in Meridian, and finding her purpose at Meridian Community College.
Since joining MCC in September 2021, Freeman finds joy in the friendships she's made on campus. "The best thing about MCC is definitely the friends and relationships I have cultivated since I've been here," she said.
As MCC's Humanities Teacher of the Year, Thompson presented her talk, "Stories that Save Us: Teaching Elie Wiesel and the Holocaust," focusing on Wiesel's lesser-known story The Watch, and its impact on students.
As part of the honor, Amanda Thompson will present the talk, "Stories that Save Us: Teaching Elie Wiesel and the Holocaust," on Friday, Feb. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in McCain Theater on the MCC campus.
Kassi Rushing, a communications and people strategist, led the discussion on Behaviors of Inclusive Leadership and Growing an Engaged Team with members of MCC's Eagles Leadership Convocation (E.L.C.).
