College Communications receives awards from state competition

Meridian Community College’s College Communications Department brought home awards from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi’s (CPRAM) annual conference and competition.
CPRAM is a consortium of public relations professionals employed at Mississippi’s public and private colleges and universities, as well as affiliated education agencies. The annual CPRAM conference includes educational sessions, roundtable discussions, and the CPRAM Awards ceremony.
MCC’s College Communications won several third-place awards in the competition’s junior division, which is made up of Mississippi’s 15 community colleges. The entries were completed and published last year.
Matthew Milner, along with Hunter Heath and Tanisha Clark, won third place in the non-sports promotion/hype video category. Milner also won third place in the institutional magazine category for the President’s Edition of Connections magazine.
Tony Boutwell and Kay Thomas also received third-place awards for the President’s Edition of Connections.
“This recognition is a testament to the talent, creativity, and commitment of MCC’s College Communications Department,” said Dr. Leia Hill, chief of staff and vice president for institutional advancement and operations and executive director of the MCC Foundation. “The team works each day to share the messages of Meridian Community College in meaningful ways, and I am proud to see their efforts recognized among their peers across the state,” she added.
