When 81 year old Columbus Thedford enrolled in MCC's Adult Literacy Program, he couldn't read. Now, through classes twice a week with instructor Susie Chapman, he can pick up a book or fill out forms.
A group of Southeast Lauderdale High School juniors and seniors stepped out of their classroom and into a college lab at Meridian Community College as part of their dual-credit Anatomy and Physiology I course.
"I want to see what's out there and learn more about where I can take my nursing career," Evans said after she stopped at tables manned by recruiters from across the region.
MCC will honor those who have given sacrificially and their families with a Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flag-raising ceremony on Friday, Sept. 19, at 9 a.m. in front of the Ivy-Scaggs Hall circle.
