Meridian Community College honored three exceptional individuals during its annual Hall of Fame ceremony, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the institution and the wider community.
Two Meridian Community College employees, Kay Thomas and Michael Thompson, will be inducted into College's Talon Club when the MCC Foundation hosts the MCC Hall of Fame ceremony on March 8.
Harrison, who worked as an auditor for Mississippi State Auditor's Office often traveling across the state daily, would wind up at MCC and ultimately retire from MCC as chief financial officer in June 2022.
In 1975, Debroah Stokes became the first Black nursing instructor in Meridian when she began teaching at the now-closed Matty Hersee School of Nursing. Later, in 1980, she became the first Black nursing professor at MCC.
