Meridian Community College honored veterans with a special Veterans Day Program - both on campus and in the community - two days before the traditional tributes were to be held.
Lt. Col. Albert Germany will be the keynote speaker when Meridian Community College hosts its veterans' tribute on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. in the McCain Theater, located in Ivy-Scaggs Hall.
MCC's McCain Theater will be all aglow with the brilliance of Oz when the College's Arts & Letters Series presents the Tony-award-winning show, The Wiz.
The opportunity to play basketball led Derrius Ramsey to MCC. But it's the people he likes best about his college choice. "The Student Success Center, the instructors, actually, everyone around here is very nice," he said.
Each fall, MCC honors first-generation college students with a reception, banner signing, and a talk by a guest speaker to encourage these students to continue their academic endeavors.
