"After taking dual enrollment classes during my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to complete my associate degree at MCC while exploring my academic interests before committing to a specific major at a university."
Some 15 youths got the chance to act up and discover other outlets for their creative endeavors when MCC's Communication and Fine Arts Division hosted Arts Day with Newton County Schools' Talented and Gifted students.
MCC received a $5,000 grant from the MS Community College Board for non-traditional recruitment and retention for its innovative program, Experience the One: Occupations Not Usually Explored by Non-Traditional Students.
Kimberly Rush, associate dean of advising, retention, and student success, shared how motivation can drive success in various aspects of their lives, both in and out of the classroom.
