MCC welcomes Ryan Mounce as new head tennis coach
Ryan Mounce has been named the new head coach for the Eagle Tennis teams and brings experience in coaching, personal training, and player development.
Meridian Community College Athletic Director Sander Atkinson noted Mounce's qualities. "Ryan brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, which will be invaluable in continuing the tradition of excellence at MCC."
Mounce played at Oxford High School and served as vice president of the University of Mississippi club team. As an assistant coach at Lafayette High School under the mentorship of coach Debbie Swindol, Mounce helped direct the Lafayette Commodores to four state championships.
In addition to his coaching roles, Mounce is an experienced tennis professional at the Oxford Park Commission and has dedicated time as a personal trainer and wellness center staff member at the YMCA. His experience in personal training and player development uniquely positions him to propel the MCC Eagles to new achievements, Atkinson noted.
Mounce is grateful for the MCC opportunity. "I'd like to thank MCC Athletic Director Sander Atkinson, the interview committee, and MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner for allowing me to step into this role. I also thank Coach Debbie Swindol of Lafayette High School for providing me with so much guidance and mentorship as a coach and person over the last four years."
