Sophomore adds another task to her busy schedule

Balancing school and work is a part of sophomore Jahaliya Moore’s routine.

Meridian Community College student Jahaliya Moore has a lot on her plate.

A business student, Moore is enrolled in classes full time, works on campus part time, and works outside of campus full time. Soon, she'll add another task to her schedule; she will be one of the managers for the Eagle's Basketball team. "I go to every basketball game at home and most away games," she said. "So, I went to sign up to be a manager."

This is her first time taking on the task.

Moore came to MCC because it was close to home. She’s found that it's opened opportunities for her, too.

"MCC has a lot of great features – it's big. The instructors are nice and will work with you," she said.

After this semester, Moore plans on enrolling in the College's Cosmetology Program and hopes to graduate in 2024. Her goal is to move to a bigger city – Atlanta, perhaps – and start her own business.
