MCC graduation set for Dec. 13
Meridian Community College will hold its Fall 2024 Commencement on Friday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Evangel Temple Church, 3611 Highway 145, Meridian.
One hundred and seventy-four students are candidates for graduation at this ceremony.
College officials are looking forward to this event. Dr. Cedric S. Gathings, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, expressed his excitement for the graduates’ achievements, highlighting their efforts to reach personal milestones. "Our students have demonstrated extraordinary perseverance, and we are proud to honor their incredible accomplishments in this ceremony," he said.
During the ceremony, graduating students Natacha Fortenberry, Victoria Ford, and Marcos Aguirre will offer the invocation, welcome, and benediction, respectively. Fortenberry is a Culinary Arts Technology Program student; Ford is a Medical Office Management Technology Program student; and Aguirre is a Precision Machining Engineering Technology Program student.
MCC sophomore Chloe Smith, a University Transfer student, will lead the audience in singing the College's alma mater.
Before the commencement ceremony on Dec. 13, MCC's Practical Nursing Program will hold a separate pinning ceremony at 9 a.m. in the Evangel Temple to honor the nursing students and celebrate their journey to becoming nurses. In addition, on Dec. 13, the Associate Degree Nursing Program will hold its pinning ceremony at 11 a.m. in the Evangel Temple.
