Taking it outside

Physical Therapist Assistant Program students take blood pressure readings during the Employee and Student Health Fair and Wellness Walk.

MCC faculty, staff, and students laced up their tennis shoes and made their way to the Damon Fitness Center for the Employee and Student Health Fair and Wellness Walk. Their mission: to get outdoors and get information on better health.

Some 50 MCCers took part in the event, which included blood pressure, body composition, body mass index, percent body fat checks, and glycaemic tests. Participants also moved through the campus walking trail, logging a mile around the College.

Dr. Laura Lewis, health and wellness instructor, believes wellness is crucial for a good quality of life. She emphasized the importance of having a basic understanding of good health and how it can empower individuals to take charge of their well-being.

This event with the walk was the first of its kind since the pandemic.
