Transfer Fair offers networking opportunity

MCC student Teresa Terrell looks over information material with Keith Riley, an academic evaluator with Jackson State University.

What's the next step for Meridian Community College's soon-to-be graduating sophomores? Thanks to MCC's Transfer Fair, students learned first-hand the academic opportunities from various institutions.

Meridian sophomore Teresa Terrell was one of the students who stopped by MCC's Transfer Fair, where 19 colleges and military representatives stood by to answer questions and offer college-branded giveaways.

“We've talked to students in various programs to see if they want to continue their bachelor's degree,” said Keith Riley, an academic evaluator with Jackson State University, who was one of the college officials at the fair.

MCC offers this fair to support students' academic and career aspirations. “The Transfer Fair is an event that equips our students with the tools they need to transition to four-year institutions," said Kelli Wallace, MCC director of housing and student activities.

The next transfer fair is planned for March 20, 2024.
