Prepping for new career

Surgical Technology

Six Meridian Community College students are finding their wings and starting their careers in the surgical technology arena.

And to celebrate, the Surgical Technology Class of 2023 will have a pinning ceremony on Thursday, July 27, at 2 p.m. in the MCC Foundation Chapel. Candidates for the class include Myra Boler, Tenesha Pringle, Sara Scales, Chandler Stovall, Alex Tarpley, and Jessica Walley.

MCC's Surgical Technology Program prepares students to serve as surgical team members to work with surgeons, certified registered nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during, and after surgery. Paul Ford is the program director of this certificate program.
