Going into the Fall Semester 2021, Meridian Community College instructors have another tool in their academic tool chest – new computers.

Nearly 300 Microsoft Surface Pro 7s were purchased for full-time faculty and staff along with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, travel keyboard (which serves as a screen cover), docking station, and stylus.

Dr. Kelley Gonzales, associate vice president for technology, said the College obtained the devices for many reasons, including that to allow for remote teaching and learning. In addition, the new computers will allow students and instructors to be connected and engaged, and the computers are to easily connect with the HyFlex equipment in the College’s classrooms.

The new computers, which will provide a digitally inclusive classroom environment, also allowed the College to upgrade outdated devices.
