MCC students receive certificates, diplomas at Summer 2024 Commencement

Meridian Community College held its summer commencement in the Evangel Temple Church with 112 students as candidates for graduation at this ceremony.

Dr. Cedric S. Gathings, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, expressed his excitement for the students' achievements, highlighting their dedication and perseverance in reaching significant milestones. "Our students have shown remarkable resilience, and we are honored to celebrate their accomplishments," he said.

During the ceremony, graduating students Lindy Williams, Zachquana Cole, and James Germany offered the invocation, welcome, and benediction, respectively. Williams is a Cosmetology student, Cole is a Practical Nursing student, and Germany is a University Transfer student.

MCC sophomore Payton Alexander, a music major, led the audience in singing the College's alma mater.

Before the commencement ceremony, MCC's Practical Nursing Program held its pinning ceremony to honor the nursing students and celebrate their journey to becoming nurses the Paramedic Program held its pinning ceremony.
