MCC summer classes offer flexible way to stay on track

Jimmyia Smith, MCC pre-health ed advisor, assists students with their academic journeys.

Registration is underway for summer classes at Meridian Community College, giving students a flexible and affordable way to get ahead, catch up or stay on track.

Day Term I, Full Term, Full Term online and Term I online classes begin Monday, June 1. The last day to register for Day Term I and Full-Term classes is Wednesday, June 3. Term II online classes begin Monday, June 29, and Day Term II classes begin Monday, July 6. The last day to register for Day Term II is Wednesday, July 8.

Summer classes can help students earn credits faster, make up a class, complete prerequisites or lighten their fall schedule. Students attending another college may also take MCC summer courses and transfer the credits back to their home institution, but they should check with that college or university before registering.

Summer also can be a good starting point for new or returning students who want a smaller class load before beginning full time.

MCC will observe Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, and the Independence Day holiday June 29-July 5. The August graduation application deadline is Friday, June 26. The final instructional day is Thursday, July 30, with final grades due and commencement set for Friday, July 31.

Students can view available classes here or contact MCC Advising for more information.
