MCC student named Miss Hospitality for Clarke County

Foley Doggett never imagined that a conversation with a friend would lead her to a crown, a sash, and a seat at the table of community service. But now, the 19-year-old Meridian Community College student is proudly representing Clarke County as Miss Hospitality.

“I was introduced to it by one of my best friends who held a title herself,” Doggett said. “Once I looked into it, I fell in love with the whole experience—the people, the directors, the way it connects you to your community.”

A first-semester student in MCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program, Doggett balances her time between college classes and a part-time job at Baptist Anderson Pharmacy.

Though the pageant world is new to Doggett outside of a few school competitions, she saw Miss Hospitality as more than a title—it was a way to serve. “It’s been fun getting out in the community and supporting small businesses,” she said. “It’s also helped me grow my communication and public speaking skills.”

Doggett’s passion for helping others stretches far beyond the pageant stage. Inspired by her time in HOSA during high school, she set her sights on a nursing career early. A job shadowing opportunity in a hospital confirmed her calling.

“I’ve always wanted to help people,” she said. “At first, I thought about the FBI or criminal justice, but something about nursing stuck with me. Especially working with kids—I have a strong heart for them. I want to be a calming presence for them when they’re scared or sick.”

Her goal after graduating from MCC in December 2026 is to work with children, either in pediatrics or a neonatal intensive care unit. The dream job? St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“I want to be the kind of nurse who makes a difference—not just in their recovery, but in how they feel while they’re in the hospital,” she said.

Doggett is preparing for the state-level Miss Hospitality competition set for June 18 and 19 by doing interviews and connecting with other local titleholders. “I’ve always loved pageants and serving others,” she said. “This brings both of those things together in a really special way.”
