Junior high students add up wins

The Meridian Community College Math and Science Division hosted the regional Seventh and Eighth Grade Math Tournament, sponsored by the Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Middle and junior high schools in MCC's district are invited to send top seventh and eighth-grade mathematics students to this competition. Students take a written standardized test. Twenty-three students participated in this year’s district competition.

The first and second-place winners in each grade qualify for the state competition on April 6 at the Mississippi School for Math and Sciences in Columbus.
