Queen City Race for Life and Street Strut set Oct. 21 at MCC

Get ready, get set, and get going on Saturday, Oct. 21, to the Queen City Race for Life and Street Strut, the annual event sponsored by Meridian Community College, committed to fighting breast cancer and raising awareness while supporting those affected by cancer.

There's a new element added this year: The Queen City Car Show.

The race and strut portions kick off at 7:45 a.m. with the National Anthem, followed by races starting at 8 a.m., including a 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run, and Street Strut for Survivors. Registration is available at Time2Run.net, with an entry fee of $22 for early bird registration and $25 for regular registration. Packet pick-up is on Friday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m.

In addition to the races, the Queen City Car Show, running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., promises to be a highlight of the day. Car enthusiasts can register their vehicles for $25 per car between 8 and 11 a.m. The show welcomes cars, trucks, and motorcycles, with awards to be presented at noon. The car show will be held outside Graham Gym at MCC.

Proceeds from the races and show will go to the Anderson Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
