MCC's Practical Nursing grads score 100 percent first-time exam pass rate

Meridian Community College's Practical Nursing Program’s August 2025 class of graduates successfully passed their national credentialing exam on their first attempt, achieving a 100 percent pass rate.
“All 22 graduates from the Practical Nursing Program scored a 100 percent pass rate on the NLCEX PN First Write,” said Bethany Files, Practical Nursing Program director.
“We are very proud of our graduates as they begin their careers as an LPN,” Files noted.
Members of the class included Indigay Baldwin, Monquie Banks, Kasenthia Bloodsaw, Addison Evans, Jacquadazia Ford, Dalton Garrett, Kambresha Griffin, Diamond Harris, Abby Heidelberg, Shamekia Horne, Ashley Hunt, Alexus Kilgore, Asia Lofton, Yasmin McDonald, Valery McLemore, Destiny Miller, Emily Odom, Makaiya Perrin, Ajah Ruffin, Temeko Sanders, Jennifer Shehi, and Roben Tylor Younkins.
This one-year certificate program is designed to teach students basic nursing skills and to care for patients in affiliated clinical agencies. The Practical Nursing Program offers educational opportunities for personal and intellectual growth, helping to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
Graduates are eligible to apply to the Mississippi Board of Nursing to take the NCLEX-PN® exam and become licensed practical nurses.
