Pinnings usher in new chapter for students

PN Pinning Ceremony

Meridian Community College spotlighted the students in five healthcare programs as it hosted pinning ceremonies honoring soon-to-be graduates from the Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy Technology, Practical Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant Technology, and Associate Degree Nursing programs.

The ceremonies showcased students' perseverance, integrity, and excellence, College officials said.

And pinning ceremonies aren't just for the soon-to-be grads and their loved ones—their instructors also relish students' accomplishments. "Being around them has been such a blessing and a privilege. To watch them matriculate and grow not just as academics but as people," said Dr. Tommy Winston, program coordinator and instructor for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.

MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner applauded students and reminded them that they would learn something about themselves when caring for others. "You have committed to something bigger than yourselves," he said.
