College to hold additional orientation sessions

Meridian Community College is hosting one-day orientation events this month and next to help new students transition smoothly into college life and enhance their overall experience.

These sessions are Wednesday, July 10, Thursday, July 18, and Friday, Aug. 16, beginning with check-in at Graham Gymnasium on the MCC campus.

Mandy Hurtt, executive director of recruiting and admissions, encourages new-to-college students to participate. "Orientation is open to all newly admitted MCC students. There is no restriction on the number of guests they can bring, and a dedicated break-out session will be available for parents and guardians," she said.

Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to experience:

Campus Life Fair: Representatives from the Eagle's Nest Bookstore, the Cafeteria, Student Support Services, and the Student Success Center will be available to discuss the various resources and services offered on campus.

Advisor Meetings: Students will talk with their advisors about academic goals and class schedules.

Classroom Tours: Tours of classrooms on the main campus and at the Workforce Development Center will help students become familiar with new environments.

After registering for classes, students can obtain their student IDs and parking decals.
