Getting ready for fall: College hosts next orientation session July 17
MCC continues to welcome new students to campus for orientation sessions this summer to help them get ready for college life.
The one-day events will be held July 17, Aug. 6, and Aug. 15 in the McCain Theater.
“Orientation is open to all new students who have been admitted to MCC,” said Mandy Hurtt, executive director of recruiting and admissions. “There is no limit on the number of guests students may bring, and there will be a special break-out session for parents and guardians.”
During orientation, students will meet faculty and staff, tour the campus, and learn about the resources available to them. They will also meet with their advisors to plan class schedules, get their student IDs and parking decals, and visit classrooms on the main campus and at the Workforce Development Center.
Students can take part in the Campus Life Fair, where they will meet representatives from the Eagle's Nest Bookstore, the Cafeteria, Student Support Services, and the Student Success Center.
MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner encouraged students to embrace this time in their lives.
“This is your chance to figure out who you want to be and who you were created to be,” he said. “At Meridian Community College, we provide the resources and people to help you figure that out. This is an exciting time for us, and it’s an exciting time for you.”
Dr. Huebner also shared a word for parents.
