MCC invites new students to orientation, academic journey

Here’s a question: How can a newly admitted Meridian Community College student boost their college knowledge? The answer: Attend one of MCC’s orientation sessions.

These one-day orientation events are geared to prepare students for a successful start to their college experiences, said Mandy Hurtt, director of recruiting. The first session is on April 26, with other events set for June 25, July 10, July 18, and Aug. 16.

An essential feature of orientation is the opportunity for students to meet their advisors, discuss academic plans, register for classes, and learn about the resources available to them for a successful college experience. The day will also include tours of the campus and the chance to meet with representatives from campus services such as the Eagle’s Nest Bookstore, cafeteria, Student Support Services, and Student Success Center.

“New students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to set the foundation for their academic and personal growth at MCC,” said Hurtt, who added, “It’s the first step towards a great experience at MCC.”
