MCC receives more than $35,000 in energy rebates through MS Power program
Dr. Tom Huebner, Drew Edwards, and Derron Radcliff gathered at the energy rebate announcement.
Meridian Community College partnered with Mississippi Power in 2024 to improve campus energy efficiency and reduce costs through the company’s Large Commercial & Industrial Customer Program.
Through the program, MCC received more than $35,000 in rebates for upgrades that promote responsible energy usage and help lower environmental impacts.
The College’s upgrades included installing LED lighting and replacing an outdated heating system with a high-efficiency heat pump. These improvements enhanced energy efficiency and supported MCC’s commitment to sustainability.
“We are proud to serve Meridian Community College and help them become more energy efficient through our programs,” said Mississippi Power Market Specialist Derron Radcliff. “Through these initiatives, our customers are able to find more ways to save by enhancing and upgrading their facilities.”
Drew Edwards, MCC vice president for financial services and CFO, expressed gratitude for the partnership. “We deeply appreciate Mississippi Power’s unwavering support. They are not only a reliable strategic partner, but they also went above and beyond to secure these rebates for us. These funds will be reinvested into our community, benefiting everyone.”
