MCCer of the Month: Veronica Fox
At the MCCer of the Month celebration are Dr. Tommy Winson, Eric Jones, James Runnels,
Parker Manley, Mya Adams, Crystal Webster, Veronica Fox, Eugene Perry, Dr. Leia Hill,
Courtney Pitts, Jawanda Huggins, Crystal Sterling, and Rhonda Smith.
For Veronica Fox, the daily interactions with students are more than just a part of her job; they're what make it.
“Being able to help them and support them through their college journey is very rewarding,” Fox said when asked about her most enjoyable aspect of work as Meridian Community College’s assistant director of student accounts.
“Veronica goes above and beyond to help students, faculty, staff, and parents. She handles herself with grace,” said a colleague.
Because of her dedication, Fox was named MCCer of the Month for February. The MCC Foundation sponsors this monthly award to exemplify the College's hardworking employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day duties. Honorees are peer-nominated. In addition to a commemorative plaque, recipients are gifted $250. Fox learned of the honor during a break at the Eagles Leadership Convocation (E.L.C.)
Fox first joined MCC in September 2019 and returned in August 2022. And before coming to MCC, she spent nearly a decade working in banking.
Last August, Fox earned her degree from MCC.
“The best thing about MCC is that the faculty and staff truly care about one another and our students,” Fox said. “We’re more than coworkers, we’re family.”
Crystal Webster, director of student accounts and receivables and Fox’s immediate supervisor, said she’s grateful to have Fox on her team. “Veronica truly represents the spirit of MCC through her dedication, reliability, and genuine care for others. She is a dependable, hardworking team player who is always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Veronica consistently encourages her coworkers to get involved in campus activities, and she maintains strong, positive communication with students and parents. She’s a positive impact on both our office and the MCC community as a whole.”
Outside of work, Fox’s family motivates her; she and her husband, Trey, have two children. “A sweet daughter and an energetic little boy who keeps us all on our toes,” Fox said. “They are the reason I try my best every day. They are my world.”
Fox is known for her strong school spirit and involvement in campus events ranging from Candy Cruise – her favorite – to My College Cares to the campus-wide holiday party to supporting veterans.
Still it’s her favorite Bible verse that serves as a mantra: “Let all that you do be done in love.”
