Humbled and grateful. That's how Mallory Hardy summed up her feelings when she learned she was named MCCer of the Month.

Hardy, a Workforce project manager, was honored during Meridian Community College's Convocation. The MCCer of the Month program, which the MCC Foundation sponsors, salutes the College's hardworking employees who go above and beyond their duties. In addition to a commemorative plaque, honorees are given $250.

This MCC alumna holds a bachelor's of science in kinesiology-exercise science and a master's degree in health education, both from the Mississippi University for Women, and she's logged in 18 focus hours at the graduate level from Delta State University. In addition to her project management duties, Hardy is a basic life support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructor, adjunct, and group fitness instructor.

"Mallory brings lots of enthusiasm to our department. She has an excitement about working with our business and industry partners to identify and implement their training needs. Mallory is always willing to jump in and do the work to help our team succeed," said Hardy’s supervisor, Lucy Lambert, director of workforce grants and development.

With two years and nine months into her MCC career, Hardy said she loves working with others – meeting the needs of clients, companies, and students. "I appreciate that we all band together to get the job done because it truly takes a village. I feel like I can ask questions without feeling silly – people are always willing to help," she said.

In nominating Hardy for the MCCer of the Month award, one described her as the perfect example of an amazing coworker. "She takes initiative and never has to be asked to do something when she sees something needs to be done. It doesn't matter if it doesn't fit her job description; you can bet she will be excited to help no matter the task," the nominator wrote.

Within the College, Hardy deeply respects her colleagues, considering them lifelong friends who share both joyous moments and challenges. "We love each other through it all," she said.

And beyond the College, Hardy cherishes her family, her husband, Ken Hardy, and her fur baby, Jules. “I'm very close to my family, and most of us live in the same community. We all talk just about every day; we get together as much as we can – maybe even more than most," she added.

Her enthusiasm for life extends to her hobbies, including reading, cooking, traveling, shopping, and decorating. And she makes time for community involvement; she serves on the Hope Village Guild and is co-chair of the Run for Hope.

Hardy, an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, acknowledges that she "would be nowhere without my faith and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is what carries me through day by day, and I could not imagine one millisecond without Him in my life. All thanks to Him."
