Drew Edwards: MCCer of the Month for February
Joining Drew Edwards, center, in the MCCer of the Month celebration are Hardin Hall colleagues Diane Delk, Amanda Bratu, Pam Harrison, Callie Penson, Leia Hill, Crystal Webster, Stephanie Hollifield, Charlene Lewis, Cyndy Bratu and Gene Miles.
Drew Edwards has deep Meridian Community College roots.
“Some people would say I come from MCC legacy,” he said, explaining his dad Chris has worked at the College for more than two decades, and his sister, Anna, is currently an MCC employee.
Edwards, an alumnus who has been at the College for four years, “unless you counted student worker in the library when I was a student here in 2006 and 2007,” he said, is MCCer of the Month for February. The MCC Foundation sponsors this recognition award to spotlight the College’s hardworking employees who go above and beyond their job duties. Honorees receive a commemorative plaque and a $250 cash award.
Serving as the College’s assistant chief financial officer, Edwards admits his favorite thing about his job is getting to be a part of helping students succeed and improve their lives. “Being from Meridian, it motivates me every day to come to a place to work that helps improve the quality of Meridian, which helps our community,” he said.
He also counts receiving the MCCer of the Month award as one of his proudest College moments. Edwards holds a bachelor’s of accountancy and a master’s of taxation, both from the University of Mississippi.
When he’s not at MCC, Edwards enjoys spending time with family and friends.
