Employer Spotlight Luncheon highlights inclusive career opportunities

Meridian Community College, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS), recently hosted its annual Employer Spotlight Luncheon designed to connect students with disabilities to career opportunities.

The event highlighted employers who support inclusive hiring practices and provided students chances to learn about career pathways and workplace resources available.

“Our goal is to empower students with disabilities by connecting them with employers who value inclusivity, helping them explore career opportunities, and building pathways to success,” said Ashley Garrett, MCC career and technical education support services coordinator.

Representatives from Great Southern Bank, the FBI, and Southern Home Care Agency attended the luncheon, sharing information about their organizations, employment opportunities, and ongoing collaborations with MDRS.
