MCC launches Scribbler Literary Review writing competition

Meridian Community College is inviting local writers to showcase their talent in a writing competition for the Scribbler Literary Review.

Open to high school students, MCC students, and community members, the competition offers participants the chance to compete in Short Story, Informal Essay, and Poetry categories. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each category, courtesy of the MCC Foundation.

The competition is divided into two parts. The High School Division is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The Community & MCC Division is open to MCC students enrolled in one or more classes, non-MCC students, and community members aged 18 or older. Students attending other area colleges, except MSU-Meridian, are not eligible to participate.

Cash prizes are offered to winners in each category, with $75 awarded for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. Submissions are due by January 17, 2025.
