Move-In Day brings MCC residence halls back to life
Move-in weekend brought Meridian Community College's residence halls back to life as students settled in ahead of the start of fall classes.
MCC held its annual Move-In Day the weekend before the semester began, giving students a little breathing room to unpack and get organized before hitting the books. The parking lots told the story: cars, trucks and trailers stuffed with mini fridges, microwaves, laptops, bedding and enough clothes for a semester.
Family members turned out in force, hauling boxes up stairwells, setting up furniture and making one last check to be sure nothing got left behind. MCC staff were stationed around campus all day, helping with check-in, answering questions and pointing families toward the right building.
For some students, it was their very first time away from home. For others, it felt like coming back to old friends and familiar hallways, ready to pick up right where they left off last spring.
