‘Liftoff’ takes students to start of Fall Semester 2022
More than 100 incoming students got a head start on their Fall Semester 2022 thanks to the final installment of Meridian Community College's Liftoff event.
Liftoff is an orientation session geared to those who recently graduated high school and those returning to school to get the career they've always wanted. With Liftoff, students met with college personnel and Ivy League Recruiters, learned about student life opportunities, found their classrooms and instructors' offices, and finalized their fall academic schedules.
Brandon Dewease, associate dean of student engagement for MCC and coordinator of Liftoff, noted Liftoff's overall success. "On the whole, the series of events served approximately 250 students this summer. The multiple smaller events allowed for more one-on-one interaction between faculty, staff, and students," he said.
"We believe this is just the boost our students needed to start the year off on a great start," Dewease added.
MCC's Fall Semester 2022 begins Monday, Aug. 15.
