‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ to bring music, color to life on McCain Stage

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Prepare to be dazzled as the Meridian Community College's McCain Theater comes alive with vibrant colors and singalong melodies in the upcoming presentation of the classic musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

This Arts & Letters Series production will feature the cast and crew of Stage 2, the theatrical training group for students beginning at age 13 through college.

The show is set for June 23-25, with performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 23 and 24, and a 3 o'clock matinee on Sunday, June 25. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Prepare to embark on a journey through biblical times that will leave you in awe and uplift your spirits. The tale reimagines the story of Joseph, his father Jacob, 11 brothers, and his coat of many colors. A sung-through musical comedy with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” was written in 1968, featuring iconic pop and musical theatre classics including "Any Dream Will Do," "Close Every Door,” and "Go Go Go Joseph."

Susie Johnson, director of the Arts & Letters Series, said this marks the third time Stage 2 has presented this family-favorite musical. "This musical emerges as both timely and timeless,” she added.
