The College’s Wellness Committee hosted its Wellness Screening and Health Fair in the Damon Fitness Center. The staff and faculty of Meridian Community College stepped up to take charge of their health by participating in the semi-annual Wellness Screening and Health Fair hosted by the College's Wellness Committee and Anderson WorkHealth.

Readings of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid hormone, hemoglobin A1C, complete blood count, and prostate-specific antigen were offered at the Damon Fitness Center.

The results of these tests serve as valuable indicators of a person's health status. As Dr. Laura Lewis, health and wellness instructor and co-chair of the Wellness Committee, said, “It's always good to know where you are so you can set goals.” Mallory Hardy, the workforce project manager and Wellness Committee co-chair, added that the tests could be a wake-up call for some individuals.

Past on-campus screenings have revealed that further testing may be required. These initiatives demonstrate the commitment of the College and its employees to promoting health and well-being and motivating each other to be the best versions of themselves.
