MCC Guitar Ensemble to perform spring concert

The first day of May will bring music when Meridian Community College guitar students
perform in concert.
The concert, featuring guitar and solo performances by students and MCC Guitar Instructor Mitch Brantley, will get underway at 3 p.m. in the MCC Foundation Chapel. Admission is free of charge, and campus and community residents are invited.
Brantley noted a wide variety of styles are on the program including classical, jazz, ragtime, rock and pop, and the MCC Guitar Ensemble will perform arrangements of songs and instrumentals made popular by Adele, Dave Brubeck, Cold Play, Jimi Hendrix, Scott Joplin, Richard Rodgers, Stevie Wonder and more.
In addition, the concert will feature students and MCC Guitar Instructor performing classical guitar solos and arrangements by composers Leo Brouwer, Matteo Carcassi, Ferdinando Carulli, Niccolo Paganini, Gaspar Sanz, and Richard Rodgers.
