Getting oriented
Meridian Community College will offer new students one-day orientation events to enhance their college experience and create a smooth transition to college life.
The sessions are June 24, July 17, Aug. 6, and Aug. 15. For the June 24 date, participants will check in and meet at Graham Gymnasium on the MCC campus; for the July 17, Aug. 6 and Aug. 15 dates, participants will check in and meet at the McCain Theater in Ivy-Scaggs Hall.
“Orientation is open to all new students who have been admitted to MCC. There is no limit on the number of guests students may bring, and a special break-out session will be available for parents and guardians,” said Mandy Hurtt, executive director of recruiting and admissions.
Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to experience:
- Campus Life Fair: Representatives from the Eagle's Nest Bookstore, the Cafeteria, Student Support Services, and the Student Success Center will be available to discuss the various resources and services offered on campus.
- Advisor Meetings: Students will meet with their advisors to discuss academic goals and plan their class schedules.
- Classroom Tours: Tours of classrooms on the main campus and at the Workforce Development Center will help students become familiar with their new learning environments.
After registering for classes, students can obtain their student IDs and parking decals.
