MCC Foundation's $1.7 million in support empowers students and programs

More than a million dollars.

That’s what Meridian Community College Foundation gave to the College in support of students and programs on campus for the fiscal year 2025. Specifically, the $1,771,675.36 gift was earmarked for academic ($19,678.83), scholarships ($630,662.73), student services ($538,665.59), workforce ($125,421.60), nursing and health education ($37,196.61), and capital improvements ($420,050.00).

“The Foundation’s gift shows not only their strong commitment to our students but also our community as well,” said MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner. “Because of their support, we can continue to offer the best education and training."

Under the leadership of Dr. Leia Agnew Hill, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the MCC Foundation, the Foundation actively seeks private investment to bolster the College's mission. "This significant contribution underscores the impact of collective generosity," said Dr. Hill. "Every dollar invested through the MCC Foundation directly translates into opportunities and support for our students, faculty, and staff."

Drew Edwards, MCC vice president for financial services and chief financial officer, noted the gift was welcomed. “This generous support from the MCC Foundation empowers us to strengthen our financial infrastructure and expand opportunities for our students,” Edwards said.

He added, “We’re committed to using these resources to deliver top-tier educational experiences, promote community growth, and ensure lasting impact for the Meridian area.”
