Meet … MCC student Elisha Allison
With dreams of becoming a veterinarian, Elisha Allison picked Meridian Community College to start her studies.
The MCC Foundation's Tuition Guarantee made her college choice easier. The program guarantees tuition to attend MCC for up to four semesters; it is available to qualifying students who graduate from a high school in Lauderdale County and is funded by private investment and institutional support.
Allison, 18, from Meridian, is taking the pre-requisites classes and is enrolled in 16 college credit hours. She's juggling her academic studies and working at a fast-food restaurant while maintaining As and B grades.
For Allison, MCC has been the right place for her. "There are good people here, and it’s a nice place," she said.
Though she's undecided about where to continue her college studies after finishing two years at MCC, she's looking forward to a bright future.
