MCC music ensemble kicks off season with 13-member lineup

MCC Dimensions

Meridian Community College's musical performance group, Dimensions, is getting down to musical business as they rehearse for the 2023-24 season with 13 talented members taking to the stage.

Performing at campus, community, and civic events, festivals, pageants, and high schools, the Dimensions also features a live band playing pop, classic rock, rhythm and blues, Motown, and hip-hop music. The ensemble is under the direction of Tammy Miles, artistic director; Mitch Brantley, instrumental director, and Daniel Boles, technical director.

Members of his high-energy vocal band include Michaela Acord, Jakelya Brown, Atoria Crowell, Hasen Caldwell, Kamron Darden, Christian McClelland, Connor Todd, and Noah Stephens, all of Meridian; Anna Grayson, Payton Alexander, Jolee Todd and Jesse Mixon, all of Collinsville; and Sam Mosley of Memphis, Tennessee.

Stephens, 21, is a Precision Machining Engineering Technology Program sophomore and looks forward to the ensemble's performances. He had been a member of the Dimensions in 2021-22 and returned to the group this year. "I missed the music," he said, noting that being able to sing in the group is a stress reliever.

Todd, 18, who is a freshman, is also looking forward to meeting new people through this group.

The College's Arts & Letters Series will spotlight the Dimensions during the College's Music Department's Christmas Concert on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the McCain Theater. Admission is free of charge.
