MCC’s Dental Hygiene Class of 2026 earns 100 percent pass rate

MCC Dental Hygiene Technology Class of 2026

Meridian Community College’s Dental Hygiene Technology Program Class of 2026 achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the national credentialing exam.

This year’s class includes Brittney Martin, Reagan Dyess, Neena Walters, Anna Grace Hoover, Ariadna Magana, Ashlee McDonald, Courtney Odom, Natalie Pierce, and Megan Rodriguez.

MCC’s two-year Dental Hygiene Technology Program combines general education courses with hands-on clinical experience to prepare students for careers as licensed dental hygienists. Dental hygienists are preventive health professionals who provide educational, clinical, and therapeutic services while promoting overall health through optimal oral health.

Students gain experience treating patients of all ages, from children to older adults, as well as patients with oral and general systemic conditions. They also participate in community dental health activities.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of dental hygienists is projected to grow 7 percent from 2024 to 2034, faster than the average for all occupations. About 15,300 openings are projected each year, on average, over the decade.
