College for Kids wraps up successful two-week camp

From rocket blasting to slime making to goat milking, Meridian Community College’s College for Kids wrapped up its second and final week, bringing children ages 6-12 to campus to learn, have fun, and create lasting memories.

More than 500 children participated in this year’s annual camp, which provides a fun and educational experience in a safe and supportive environment.

“We have loved seeing our campus filled with children learning, creating, and experiencing something new each day,” said Ashlee Dean, recruiting coordinator for student engagement and director of College for Kids.

“College for Kids is such a special way for MCC to connect with families in our community while helping young students feel comfortable and excited about being on a college campus.”

Dean noted that one of the goals of College for Kids is to introduce children to MCC at an early age while offering hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and confidence.

“It has been great to watch them meet new people, try new things, and make memories they’ll carry with them,” she added.

College for Kids concluded Friday, June 12.
