Casteel Art Gallery show spotlights interactive works
Ethridge, right, shares with Casteel Art Gallery patrons about his works. The show, "Interactive! Recent Discoveries by Daniel Ethridge,” will be on display through Dec. 1.

The blending of art and technology melds together at the current exhibit, "Interactive! Recent Discoveries by Daniel Ethridge," showing in Meridian Community College's Casteel Gallery located in the Davidson Fine Arts wing of Ivy-Scaggs Hall.

Ethridge's contemporary works of mixed media, visual storytelling and interactive elements require an iPhone or an iPad to fully experience the art. Many of the augmented reality experiences embedded within each art piece include three-dimensional objects, sound, animation, and interactive elements that can be touched and triggered once activated by visitors using their iPhone or iPad devices.

As the College's Graphic Design Technology Program coordinator and instructor, Ethridge is an award-winning artist.

The show will be on display through Dec. 1. The Casteel Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 601-481-1392 or 601.484.8814.
