In the swim of things: Alumna helps others with physical therapy

Carly Glidewell

Meridian Community College alumna Carly Glidewell is intentionally making waves: She's helping others live a more active, functional life.

Glidewell is certified in aquatic therapy as a physical therapist assistant with the Methodist Rehabilitation Center, which offers unique benefits to orthopedic patients. This type of therapy is known for reducing stress on the body, fall risk, and swelling while giving patients a relaxing place to exercise and recover.

Glidewell is also certified in the Graston technique that helps to restore range of motion and relieve pain.

Now living in Brandon, Glidewell came to MCC to start her career because it was close to her home. "MCC was a great college to learn, and it was very friendly,” she said.  She graduated from the College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program in 2016. Her sister, Abby Novak, who graduated from MCC on her journey to become a nurse practitioner, is also an alumna.

Glidewell and her husband, Trevor, a software developer, make their home with their pup named Harley.
