Bone up: Skeleton contest starts

Make no bones about it: A campus-wide contest that’s starting this week is no bare bones event.
The College’s Alumni and Friends Association and the MCC Foundation are hosting their second annual Skeleton Decorating Contest, said Courtney Pitts, executive assistant for the vice president of advancement and Alumni Association coordinator.
Twelve full-size skeletons will be scattered across the College, which will be decorated showing the (humerus) creative side of MCCers, and the looks can range from spooky to silly.
“Get creative with costumes, fabric, wigs, hats, and props, anything that brings your skeleton to life. Let’s make this year’s contest bigger, brighter, and creepier than ever,” Pitts said, encouraging participants not to be bone idle.
The judges, who will work their fingers to the bone, will select a winner each week for Weeks one through three. The fourth week will feature a People’s Choice Award and will be chosen through Facebook voting.
The fifth winner will be crowned at Candy Cruise; there will not be a bone of contention.
